Come ye thankful people

Vegetarians and vegans can face the fourth Thursday of November with thanksgiving. This year there is a bumper crop of ideas and products to bring us all together to the table.

MFA, based out of Columbus, Ohio, has an entire meal plan that is rounded off with pumpkin pie! This site is suitable for vegans. I ordered a free vegetarian starter kit using a provided form on the site. I’ll write about it for Health Patio readers when it gets here, k?

Quorn products were taste tested and reported on by Quad-Cities Online. Also in this review, Turtle Island Food’s Tofurky and a do-it-yourself recipe option.

But can we avoid the “pink elephant” of tension at the table, when good folks with strong opinions about food and tradition get together for a meal? Yes, says Terry Rombeck in today’s LJWorld.com (Lawrence, Kansas) article titled Holiday feast can please vegetarians, meat-eaters alike.

And in the Catskills (New York), making new traditions seems easy, if that is what it takes to take it down a notch and get together. If you get to go to the Woodstock Sanctuary’s ThanksLiving fundraiser you will enjoy turkeys as the main guests of honor rather than the main course- it really looked fun last year.. If you are in the area on November 18 (the Sunday before Thanksgiving) this year’s ThanksLiving banquet will be sure to please. Tickets available.
